Fishing Basics
Fishing is a minigame that can be used as a source of food, money, gear, magical artifacts, and combat encounters. It's easy to access as basic fishing gear is commonly available. If you're lucky you may find legendary rods or fish which offer unique abilities and encounters.
There are several tiers of gear as well as items to support your expeditions like 'fish tanks' which are basically bags of holding for fish or auto-fishers which can catch fish for you.
The fish caught is determined by the GM. There a multiple rarity categories of fish each with size categories.
Treasure can be caught on any fish roll, but note that 'treasure' is a catch-all term for non-fish items. They can be valuable or they can be trash.
In addition to tiers of gear and fish, there is an XP system with fishing that can give additional bonuses.
This page only gives a brief summary of the whole mechanic. For more details see my Fishing Guide sheet which gives a detailed report on all aspects of the mechanic and items.
